So. Farewell then...

Maa guide us, it's been a while since we last spoke, hasn't it?

So much has happened, so little time to explain it. But I'm going to start with the biggest news to hit me since the Miyabi scandal - Arihara Kanna's left Hello!Project.

It was announced about 2 or 3 days ago on the Hello!Project Official Website. Within hours the Kanna thread at Hello!Online had gone insane, of course, that always happens when news about a member is announced. As of July 9th, 2009, Arihara Kanna is no longer part of Hello!Project. For medical reasons and she wanted to go back to a normal life.

This news devastated me. Kanna has long been my favourite member of C-ute (often tied first with Maimi) and when she went on hiatus for her bunions... back then I probably wasn't fully aware of the situation. I'm no doctor, I didn't have a clue about the medical jargon. All that I could tell was that she had problems with her feet and would be out of commision until she can safely dance again. My ignorance, coupled with the optimistic reassurances of many other Kanna fans - and there was probably a bit of denial in there too; refusing to believe the worst - made me sure that Kanna would be back after a few months.

Time went on, and I became more and more worried. 2 singles rolled by and Kanna still hadn't returned to my world. She's a proffesional dancer, of course it would take longer than usual to get her back up and running. I guess I was getting short-sighted.

Then this news came. It was sudden. I was shocked. Kanna leaving? No! No! NO! I tell you, I was this far away from becoming the Angry German Kid. That wouldn't have been pretty.

But now that I've had time to think about it, I'm glad.

I don't give a shit about what other people think when it comes to these boyfriend rumours. As far as I'm concerned this was Kanna's decision and she wouldn't lie to us (her fans). If you believe those rumours then I put it to you that you aren't a very good Kanna fan or wota. It's our job as the wota to trust and support our idols. Without that the Idol-Wota relationship breaks down and no-one is happy.

But, since we've established that Kanna did this on her own willing and for the reasons given to us when she left, why wouldn't I be happy? When biyuuden disbanded I was happy. The group had officially ended and wouldn't spend the next 6 years doing absolutely nothing like Ayaka which was a total waste of talent. I'm happy in the same way for Kanna. She's gone now. No more need to worry. And she won't dissapear behind the curtain of the entertainment world as a do-nothing idol.

She quit while she was ahead. Not something that many people do in the entertainment industry. And because of that, we'll remember as the great idol she was, not the 4-years innactive singer that she could have become.

Now she can return to a normal life and be happy. She can now get a boyfriend, get married, start a family. As a young idol that's not acceptable. But now it doesn't matter. No matter what she does in her new life, we, the fans during her idol life, will continue to support her.

B.L.T.U-17 Sizzleful Girls

The new BLT is out today. And it seems they've already been scanned!

This issue of BLT features Berryz member Sudou Maasa, in Side A, and C-ute member Arihara Kanna, in Side B, among others.

As you can see, the pics are awesome and the girls are looking better than ever. I'll admit, I've yet to order my own copy of the magazine - I've been planning to since it was announced that Maasa would be appearing in it, but I just haven't had the money to spend on Hello!Project. :/

I hope I can get it soon, there are a few other H!P things that I'm hoping to get too. UFA sure know how to lighten a guys wallet.

"Arihara Kanna Dating?" and "5 (FIVE)"!

The Japanese tabloud magazine, Bubka, has published an article (see pictures above) about C-ute member Arihara Kanna spotted going to the movies with Johnny's member Ryosuke Hashimoto. According to said article, they were spotted going to see Hana Yori Dango: Final together - a film starring fellow Johnny's member Matsumoto Jun.

The article does make clear, however that they only met for the movie. After the film ended, they went their seperate ways.

It seems it's C-ute's turn to get a bit of unwanted attention. I suspect that, like Miyabi's Scandal several weeks ago, this will be completely ignored by UpFront. This isn't the best way to go about it, but who can deny the fact that it worked? I have to say that following Miya's scandal, I did get that slightly betrayed feeling which I feel most of Berryz' fans got - even if they don't admit it. But after a while you just forget about it and move on. That's probably what will happen with Kanna too.

And on a slightly brighter note, Berryz Koubou's 5th full-length album has been confirmed!

The album, apropriately named 5 (FIVE), will be released on the 10th of September as Regular Edition and Limited Edition versions.

Like most Hello!Project releases, the Regular Edition will ship with a random Berryz photocard, and the Limited Edition will ship with a bonus DVD. This DVD will contain footage from the concert at Shinagawa Stella hall on July 21, 2008.

I'll try to keep you updated on these topics as best I can.

Edo no Temari Uta II

PhotobucketPhotobucket

Well, it seems that the latest C-ute single, Edo no Temari Uta II, is finally out. Have you all ordered it yet?

The song is really interesting, at first I really didn't like it, I thought it was a little too removed from their previous work, but I'm listening to it right now as I type and it really isn't so bad. It's still quite a mature song but does have a sound a little more consistent with a lot of other Hello!Project songs being released at the moment, such as High-King's Cinderella/Complex.

The one problem I have with this song is length, the A-Side only lasts for about 2:30, so it's a very short song - by H!P standards, anyway. So it reaches the end and leaves you thinking, "Was that it? That only lasted for about 10 seconds!"

The Coupling song, Wasuretakunai Natsu, is a much longer song in comparison - twice the length of the A-side. Wasuretakunai Natsu has a very differant sound. However it does sound rather familiar, as it's nothing new. The song sounds very similiar to alot of H!P songs and, sure, while it is differant, it certainly does have the same feel and will leave you thinking, "Haven't Buono! already sung this before?"

Anyway, here is the song Edo no Temari Uta II for your enjoyment.
